Additionally, Jefferson Street is closed from Bumby Avenue to the Milk House. These closures began at 4:00 a.m. today to accommodate the event and will remain in place throughout the evening.
  • Bumby Avenue Safety Improvement Project: A full street closure remains in effect on Bumby Avenue between Jamie Circle and Weber Street. This project is in its final stages and is scheduled to conclude on February 16, 2026.
  • Wadeview Park Infrastructure: Muriel Street remains closed as part of an ongoing neighborhood improvement project. This closure is expected to continue through February 28.
  • Colonialtown Improvements: The intersection of Fern Creek Avenue and Oregon Street is currently closed for the Fern Creek Improvement Project. Drivers are advised to follow posted detours until the scheduled completion in mid-March.

Presidents' Day Holiday Service Adjustments

In observance of Presidents' Day on Monday, February 16, 2026, the City of Orlando has announced the following service modifications:

  • Residential Waste Collection: There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collection on Monday, February 16. All residential collections for the week will be delayed by one day. Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday; Tuesday’s routes on Wednesday, and so forth, through Saturday.
  • Administrative Closures: Orlando City Hall and all city administrative offices will be closed on Monday. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, February 17.

Public Health: Blue-Green Algae Advisories

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) maintains active health cautions for several local water bodies due to the presence of blue-green algae toxins. Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution at the following locations:

  • Lake Gatlin: A health caution remains in effect for the west shore following recent water samples indicating algae blooms.
  • Lake Killarney: A health alert is active for the central portion of the lake.
