Official City and Regional Infrastructure Updates

As of Tuesday, March 3, 2026, several significant road closures and infrastructure projects are active throughout the Orlando metropolitan area. Residents and commuters are advised to plan for delays and follow posted detours.

  • ChampionsGate Boulevard Bridge Demolition: A full overnight closure of ChampionsGate Boulevard (C.R. 532) under Interstate 4 is in effect. This closure, which began on March 2, facilitates the demolition of the existing I-4 westbound bridge. Operations occur nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Motorists traveling westbound to access the eastbound I-4 ramps should follow detour signs to Ronald Reagan Parkway and Lake Wilson Road.
  • Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482) Nightly Closures: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing overnight closures of the eastbound State Road 482 lanes and associated I-4 entrance ramps through March 5. These closures are necessary for utility pipe work and sign panel installation. Detours are directed through Turkey Lake Road and Hollywood Way.
  • U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail) Continuous Lane Closures: Northbound lanes on U.S. 441 remain reduced to a single lane from Beggs Road to north of the S.R. 414 ramps. These continuous closures are scheduled to last through April 2026 to accommodate ongoing excavation and water main installations.
  • Summerlin Avenue Improvement Project: Summerlin Avenue remains closed to through traffic between Livingston Street and Ridgewood Street. This closure is part of a comprehensive modernization of the city's sanitary sewer and stormwater systems and is expected to conclude by March 31, 2026.

Public Health Advisories

The Florida Department of Health and regional health authorities have issued several advisories affecting the Orlando community this week.

  • Spring Break Health Advisory: In response to a measles outbreak reported in parts of Florida, health officials are urging residents and visitors to ensure their vaccinations are up to date. This is particularly critical as the 2026 Spring Break season begins, with high-density crowds expected at local theme parks and entertainment districts.
  • HIV Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Changes: Effective this month, the state has implemented emergency rules regarding the AIDS Drug Assistance Program. These changes impact funding eligibility for lower-income residents seeking HIV medication. Residents currently enrolled are encouraged to check the updated March 2026 ADAP Formulary for changes in covered treatments.

Community and Housing Notices

Official notices regarding neighborhood development and regional board meetings are as follows:

  • Lake Davis Apartments Renovation: The City of Orlando Housing and Community Development Department has issued a Notice of Intent to request the release of $429,000 in federal funds for the renovation of the Lake Davis Apartments. The project at 1301 Catherine Street includes the installation of new roofing, HVAC systems, and plumbing fixtures to maintain affordable housing standards for the community.
  • Regional Board Meeting: The Greater Orlando Organization Development Network (GOOD) will hold its monthly board meeting today, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be conducted virtually, and general members are permitted to observe the proceedings.
