Public Health and Safety: Cold Weather Alert
In response to forecasted temperatures dropping below 40°F, Orange County and the City of Orlando have activated emergency cold weather protocols. Official warming centers are open today, Tuesday, January 27, to provide overnight shelter for residents in need. The following locations will be accessible starting at 5:00 p.m. and will remain open until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning:
- Barnett Park Recreation Center: 4801 West Colonial Drive
- Goldenrod Recreation Center: 4863 North Goldenrod Road
Public safety officials advise residents to bring essential personal items and reminded that these facilities are designed to provide temporary, short-term relief from the cold. Coordination is currently underway with the Homeless Services Network to ensure all vulnerable individuals have access to these services.

Traffic and Infrastructure Alerts
Motorists should expect significant delays due to ongoing signalization work and utility improvements across the city. The following road closures and lane restrictions are active today:
- Conway Road (S.R. 15): Southbound lane closures are in effect from Devonshire Lane to Lake Underhill Road until 2:00 a.m. for signalization updates.
- Summerlin Avenue: Continued closures between South Street and Church Street as part of the Summerlin Improvement Project. Additional restrictions are active between Livingston Street and Ridgewood Street.
- U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail): Continuous northbound lane closures remain in place from Beggs Road to north of the S.R. 414 ramps for water main installations and excavation.
- Lake Baldwin Lane: Closed between Jake Street and Nolan Court for a scheduled re-roofing project through the end of the month.
