Public Advisory Board Meetings
The City of Orlando has scheduled several official public meetings for Tuesday, March 17, 2026. St. Patrick’s Day Traffic and Road Closures
Due to scheduled infrastructure repairs and holiday celebrations, several road closures will be active on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Motorists should plan for detours and allow extra travel time in the following areas:
- Downtown Block Party: Court Street will be closed from Washington Street to Central Boulevard starting at 9:00 a.m. for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party. This closure is expected to remain in effect through the evening.
- College Park Emergency Repairs: A full road closure is in effect for Alba Drive between Ellwood Avenue and Westmoreland Drive. This closure, which begins Tuesday, March 17, is required for emergency paver repairs and is expected to last until Friday, March 20.
- Sanitary Sewer and Utility Work: Road closures continue on Fern Creek Avenue (between Robinson Street and Harwood Street) for sewer rehabilitation and on Clay Avenue (between Bay Run Street and Pelham Road) for underground utility maintenance.
- Virginia Drive Lane Shift: A lane shift is active on Virginia Drive between Alden Road and New York Avenue to facilitate sanitary manhole repairs.
Public Service Announcements
The City of Orlando Solid Waste Division confirms that residential garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection will proceed according to the standard Tuesday schedule. While March 17 marks St. Patrick’s Day, it is not an observed holiday for collection services. Residents are reminded to have their carts at the curb by 6:00 a.m. to ensure timely pickup.
Furthermore, the Southeast Bike Trail remains closed from Dowden Road to Macaris Street for ongoing milling and paving work.
