Official Bulletin: City Notices and Public Advisories for March 1, 2026

Public Health and Environmental Alerts
The Florida Department of Health in Orange County maintains active health alerts and cautions for several local water bodies due to the presence of harmful blue-green algae toxins. Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution near the following locations:
- Lake Killarney: A health alert remains in effect following recent water sampling that confirmed the presence of toxins near the center of the lake. Residents should avoid swimming, boating, or allowing pets to come into contact with the water in affected areas.
- Lake Gatlin: A health caution is active for the western shore. While toxin levels may fluctuate, the public is encouraged to avoid activities that involve direct contact with algae blooms.
Health officials remind the public that blue-green algae can produce toxins that are hazardous to humans and fatal to pets. Do not drink, cook, or clean with water from these lakes during an active alert.
