New guest announcement adds to anniversary-themed programming

MEGACON Orlando has added actor Liv Tyler to its celebrity lineup, making her the sixth announced guest connected to the film adaptations of The Lord of the Rings. Tyler portrayed Arwen in Peter Jackson’s trilogy, a role that remains one of her best-known franchise appearances.

The convention is scheduled for March 19–22, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center’s West Concourse, continuing MEGACON’s multi-day format built around celebrity guests, comics creators, exhibitors, cosplay, gaming, and fan programming.

Photo and autograph sales date set

Organizers have set Feb. 3, 2026, as the on-sale date for Tyler’s autograph and photo-op tickets. Specific timing, pricing, and session details have not yet been published in the event’s schedule materials, which are expected to be released closer to the show.

Six-film cast grouping anchors a broader guest roster

Tyler joins five previously announced actors from The Lord of the Rings films:

  • Orlando Bloom
  • Elijah Wood
  • Sean Astin
  • Dominic Monaghan
  • Billy Boyd

In addition to the Tolkien-related grouping, the convention’s guest slate announced so far spans multiple entertainment categories. Names already confirmed include John Cena, John Boyega, Helen Hunt, William Shatner, Giancarlo Esposito, James Marsters, Walter Koenig, Jennifer Beals, Corey Feldman, Joe Pantoliano, and Martha Plimpton, along with comics and publishing figures such as Frank Miller, Jim Lee, and Timothy Zahn.

What the addition signals for MEGACON’s 2026 approach

Conventions increasingly build headline programming around multi-guest reunions tied to major anniversaries, enabling panel pairings, larger photo-op groupings, and curated discussions that connect individual appearances into a single theme. Tyler’s addition strengthens the event’s ability to program The Lord of the Rings-focused sessions that extend beyond a single celebrity appearance, while still keeping the broader roster oriented to film, television, comics, and fandom communities.

MEGACON Orlando runs March 19–22, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center (West Concourse).

More guest announcements are expected ahead of the March event dates.
