Jalen Suggs posts first career triple-double as Orlando Magic rout Brooklyn Nets at Kia Center

Suggs fills the box score in limited minutes as Orlando controls the game from the second quarter on
ORLANDO — Jalen Suggs recorded the first triple-double of his NBA career Thursday night, helping the Orlando Magic cruise past the Brooklyn Nets, 118-98, at the Kia Center on Feb. 5, 2026.
Suggs finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in 29 minutes. He also added four blocks and three steals, a defensive stat line that matched the tone of a game in which Orlando built separation before halftime and maintained it throughout the second half.
Orlando’s balanced scoring supports a defense-first win
Orlando received complementary production behind Suggs’ all-around performance. Desmond Bane led the Magic with 23 points, while Paolo Banchero added 22. Anthony Black scored 18 points and contributed five assists. Off the bench, Mo Wagner provided 14 points and five rebounds in 12 minutes, helping Orlando sustain its pace when rotations shifted.
The Magic led by as many as 26 points, doing much of the damage with defensive activity and conversion opportunities created by Brooklyn’s mistakes. The Nets committed 19 turnovers, which Orlando turned into 24 points. Brooklyn shot 41.5% from the field, and its offense struggled to generate consistent possessions once the game tilted toward Orlando.
Nets get rookie scoring, but efficiency issues remain
Brooklyn’s brightest stretch came from its first-year players. Egor Demin scored a career-high 26 points, connecting on six 3-pointers. Nolan Traore added 21 points and seven assists, matching a career high in scoring.
Even with that production, Brooklyn could not compensate for the broader offensive inefficiency and lost possessions. Michael Porter Jr., the team’s leading scorer, went 2 of 13 from the field and finished with nine points, a line that reflected the difficulty Brooklyn had creating clean looks against Orlando’s pressure.
Context: Suggs’ return and Orlando’s home stretch
The performance also came as Suggs continues to work back from a right knee injury. Thursday marked his seventh game since returning after an eight-game absence, and he reached a career milestone while playing under 30 minutes.
For Orlando, the win continued a stretch of home games against teams currently carrying losing records, offering an opportunity to add results while maintaining defensive standards. Brooklyn, meanwhile, left Orlando with another lopsided defeat and a recent run defined by losses and turnovers.
- Final score: Magic 118, Nets 98 (Feb. 5, 2026, Orlando)
- Jalen Suggs: 15 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, 4 blocks, 3 steals (29 minutes)
- Top Magic scorers: Desmond Bane 23; Paolo Banchero 22; Anthony Black 18
- Top Nets scorers: Egor Demin 26; Nolan Traore 21
Suggs’ triple-double stood out not only for the points, rebounds and assists, but for the defensive plays that helped Orlando separate early and manage the rest of the night.
