Orlando Traffic Overview for Monday, February 9, 2026

Orlando commuters should prepare for a busy Monday morning as several major construction projects and maintenance operations trigger lane closures across the metro area. While most major arteries like I-4 are currently flowing without unplanned roadblocks, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has scheduled significant work on key state roads and local downtown streets that will likely impact travel times throughout the day.

Major State Road and Highway Alerts

Motorists traveling through the eastern and northern corridors of the region should take note of the following specific closures:

  • U.S. 192 (S.R. 500): Expect intermittent inside and outside lane closures between Brandywine Lane and Babcock Street. These closures are scheduled for two shifts: from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again overnight starting at 8:00 p.m.
  • State Road 46: Alternating single-lane closures will be in effect between French Avenue and Monroe Road/Upsala Road from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as crews perform signalization and final punch list work.
  • U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail): In North Orlando, motorists should expect alternating single-lane closures between Wadsworth Road and Sacred Oak Drive during daylight hours for road maintenance. A continuous northbound lane closure also remains in effect from Beggs Road to the S.R. 414 ramps.
  • I-95 Interchanges: Overnight ramp closures are scheduled to begin tonight at the I-95 interchanges for U.S. 192 and Palm Bay Road, which may impact late-evening travelers.

Downtown Orlando and Local Road Closures

The City of Orlando continues to manage several long-term infrastructure and development projects that have restricted access to several neighborhood thoroughfares:

  • Church Street: Closed from Tampa Avenue to Rio Grande Avenue as part of the ongoing Camping World Stadium reimagining project.
  • Summerlin Avenue: Multiple blocks are restricted, including the section between Livingston Street and Ridgewood Street, as well as the area between South Street and Church Street.
  • Magnolia Avenue: Phase 1 of the Magnolia Avenue Improvement Project continues to impact the downtown core, with various sidewalk and partial lane shifts near the City Hall area.
  • Fern Creek Avenue: The intersection at Oregon Street remains closed for construction, requiring local detours.

Public Transportation Updates

LYNX riders are reminded that the significant service changes implemented in January 2026 are in full effect today. This includes the discontinuation of several routes in Seminole County, which have been transitioned to the "Scout" on-demand service. Routes 1, 23, 102, and the 436N/S lines are operating under adjusted schedules. SunRail continues its regular Monday service, featuring the late-night train additions introduced earlier this season to accommodate evening commuters and event-goers.
