GayDays Orlando 2026 confirms Kissimmee host hotel and June 4-8 schedule after earlier planning pause
Host hotel shift follows weeks of uncertainty for longtime LGBTQ+ gathering
GayDays Inc. has confirmed that its 2026 GayDays Orlando programming will proceed June 4–8, centering official events at a new host hotel in Kissimmee after organizers previously announced a planning pause earlier this month.
The organization said it has reserved the full Holiday Inn & Suites Orlando SW – Celebration Area on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway for the 2026 dates. Organizers described the move as a way to place major programming “in one place” and to rebuild the event’s centralized footprint after recent operational challenges.
Why the event was paused, and what has changed
In early February, GayDays Inc. announced it was pausing preparations for June 2026, citing difficulties tied to the host hotel agreement and a loss of sponsorship support. The group characterized the pause as a planning reset rather than a permanent cancellation, pointing to broader pressures affecting LGBTQ+ events nationally.
This week’s update represents a reversal of that earlier announcement, with organizers now indicating the 2026 dates will go forward, supported by a single-property booking intended to concentrate activities and logistics at the host site.
What’s planned: pool parties, competitions, and added programming
Organizers said the 2026 schedule includes returning staples alongside newly added options. Events listed for the weekend include daytime and nighttime pool parties, foam parties, karaoke, drag bingo, a vendor expo and marketplace, and late-night programming branded as the “Red Room.” The schedule also includes the Miss GayDays Pageant and the Mr. GayDays Leather competition.
Newly announced additions for 2026 include a comedy show and a game-show format event, along with a piano lounge. Organizers said official programming will be based at the host hotel, with ticketing and room reservations made available through the organization.
Dates: June 4–8, 2026
Host property: Holiday Inn & Suites Orlando SW – Celebration Area (Kissimmee)
Major elements: pool and foam parties, pageants and competitions, vendor expo, late-night programming, and added comedy and game-show events
How GayDays Inc. fits into Orlando’s broader June weekend
GayDays’ origins trace back to 1991, when LGBTQ+ visitors coordinated a theme-park meet-up and wore red shirts to recognize each other in crowds. Organizers emphasized that the red-shirt gathering at Walt Disney World has long operated as an informal, community-driven tradition and is not produced or managed by GayDays Inc.
Over time, the first weekend of June in Central Florida has expanded into a broader ecosystem of LGBTQ+ travel and nightlife offerings with multiple organizers and brands. GayDays Inc. is one of several entities programming events during that period, alongside other separately run weekends and promotions across the region.
Organizers said the 2026 strategy prioritizes concentrating official programming into a single host property to stabilize operations and deliver a more cohesive guest experience.
With the 2026 plan now publicly confirmed, the next key watchpoints will be final event times, staffing and security details, and any changes to performers or programming as the June dates approach.
