Expect localized traffic impacts and pedestrian detours due to the following events and infrastructure projects active today:

  • Jazz on Church Street: A special event at 534 W. Church Street is authorized for this evening from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Church Street will be closed between Division Street and Terry Avenue to accommodate temporary structures and increased pedestrian traffic. Noise permits for amplified sound are in effect for this period.
  • Summerlin Avenue Infrastructure Project: The long-term pipeline replacement project continues to affect Summerlin Avenue near South Street. Motorists should continue to follow the established detour routes through Pine Street and Thornton Avenue.
  • Wadeview Park Road Closure: Muriel Street remains closed between South Orange Avenue and Delaney Avenue for ongoing utility upgrades. This closure is currently scheduled to persist through February 28, 2026.
  • Colonialtown Intersection Closure: The intersection of North Fern Creek Avenue and Oregon Street remains closed to all through traffic. Commuters are encouraged to utilize Mills Avenue as an alternate north-south route.

Environmental and Health Advisories

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County continues to monitor local water quality. Residents should take note of the following standing advisory:

  • Lake Gatlin Blue-Green Algae Caution: A health caution remains in effect for the west shore of Lake Gatlin. The public is advised to avoid contact with the water in areas where blooms are visible. Residents are warned not to use the water for irrigation and to keep pets away from the shoreline until the caution is officially lifted.

Community Development Opportunities

The City is currently soliciting proposals from non-profit organizations for federal funding allocations through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This notice is part of the 2026-2027 program year planning. Priority will be given to projects focused on affordable housing, community development, and homelessness prevention.
