Arts and Culture: Art in the Atrium Reception
Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Black History Committee of Orange County, Inc., is pleased to announce the opening reception for the new exhibition, “Soft Structures for Holding Ourselves” by Tasanee Durrett. The event will take place today, Friday, February 13, 2026, in the Atrium Gallery at the Orange County Administration Center. Residents are invited to explore these cultural works as part of the county's ongoing commitment to local artists and heritage celebrations.
Public Service Announcement: Community Movie Night
Orange County Parks and Recreation invites families to a free community movie night this evening. A screening of “A Minecraft Movie” is scheduled to begin at 6:35 p.m. at Dr. P. Phillips Community Park, located at 8249 Buenavista Woods Blvd. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and snacks. Please note that alcohol and pets are not permitted in the designated viewing area.
Official Public Meetings and Procurement
The City of Orlando has noticed the following committee meetings taking place today at City Hall:
- RFP25-0289 2nd Committee Meeting: Scheduled for today to review proposals regarding city procurement and contract services.
- RFP25-0289 3rd Committee Meeting: A follow-up session for the same procurement project is also scheduled to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of submitted bids.
These meetings are open to the public in accordance with Florida’s Sunshine Law. Members of the public who wish to provide comments on city business must follow the standard submission guidelines through the City Clerk’s Office.
Housing and Community Development Funding
Residents and non-profit organizations are reminded that the City of Orlando is currently soliciting proposals for the Program Year 2026-2027 federal funding allocations. This includes the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). A public hearing to gather input on housing and community needs is scheduled for Monday, February 16, but application portals and information regarding the Five-Year Consolidated Plan are currently active for review on the city’s official website.
