Breeze Airways to launch nonstop Brownsville–Orlando flights in May, expanding service at Orlando International Airport

New twice-weekly link announced between Brownsville and Orlando
Breeze Airways has announced it will begin nonstop passenger flights between Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) in Texas and Orlando International Airport (MCO), adding another leisure-focused nonstop option into Central Florida.
The airline said service is scheduled to start on May 15, 2026, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. Introductory fares were advertised from $79 one way for the Brownsville–Orlando market, with standard fare rules and optional fees applying depending on the product selected.
What the new route means for Orlando-area travelers
For Orlando, the addition strengthens an already broad domestic route map that has increasingly included flights to smaller and mid-sized U.S. markets. Brownsville becomes another origin city with nonstop access to Central Florida’s tourism corridor via MCO, one of the nation’s busiest airports and a major gateway for theme parks, conventions and visiting-friends-and-relatives travel.
For passengers, a nonstop option can reduce total travel time compared with itineraries that require connections through larger hubs. The schedule—two weekly departures—indicates a limited-frequency entry aimed at peak leisure demand rather than daily business travel patterns.
Brownsville’s current airline landscape and network implications
Brownsville’s commercial airline service has historically been concentrated around hub connections. The new Orlando route represents a point-to-point addition rather than a traditional hub feed, aligning with Breeze’s model of linking markets that often have fewer nonstop options.
From a network standpoint, the announcement positions Orlando as a destination city for Breeze’s first entry into Brownsville, while also offering Orlando-based travelers a direct path to the Rio Grande Valley region near the Texas–Mexico border.
Part of a broader expansion package
The Brownsville–Orlando launch was announced alongside a wider set of new routes and market additions timed for the start of the 2026 summer travel season. Breeze’s expansion package also included new service involving Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Nassau, Bahamas, as well as a return to San Antonio, Texas, plus multiple new routes within its existing network.
